Recently, a longer wheel based TUV300 was spotted on test. This time around Mahindra has filed an application to trademark the ‘TUV300 Plus’ name, where the ‘Plus’ helps us distinguish the longer wheel base variant from the regular one. The upcoming model will offer more space and features as compared to the standard TUV300.
Under the hood, the TUV300 Plus is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre mHawk diesel engine which currently serves the XUV500 and the Scorpio. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the vehicle generates about 140bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. Although the recently spotted vehicle was heavily camouflaged, it could be noted that the extended tail section resembled its older siblings to accommodate the third row seat. This time around, the third row seats are expected to be front facing and will come as a replacement to the older jump seat pattern.
The new model might carry forth most of the features and equipment from the existing model. However, the interior might tweaked for freshness and offer a touchscreen infotainment on the higher variant. The pricing aspect and other details will be known over next few months. However, we believe it might cost about an additional Rs 50,000 – Rs 1,00,000 over the regular model.
