Frankfurt Motor Show 2017: Honda Civic diesel revealed

The tenth generation Honda Civic received a new diesel engine at the ongoing 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The revised version of the 1.6-litre i-DTEC engine will be available for sale from March 2018.

The reworked oil burner produces 118bhp and 300Nm. Honda promises a fuel economy of 26kmpl from the frugal diesel motor. The upgrades to the engine includes high-strength pistons and low-friction cylinder boresb. Because of which theresulting in improved NVH levels have been improved as well, boasteds the Japanese carmaker. The new Civic diesel is no slouch either. It will dodoes a 0-100kmph sprint in around 10.4 seconds.

The sedan also gets the new nine-speed automatic gearbox. This is the first time when that Honda has introduced this newly developed transmission in a two-wheel-drive car.The first car to get this transmission was the new-gen CR-V which was an all-wheel-drive.

Prices for the Civic diesel is are yet to be announced.
