The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML) will be the conducting body of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017.
The Common Admission Test 2017 (CAT 2017) will be held on Sunday, November 26 in two sessions.
After seven long years of wait, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow will be conducting the CAT exam.
For this year, IIML admission chairperson and strategic management faculty Neeraj Dwivedi has been appointed as the convener for CAT.
Last year, 2, 32,434 candidates applied for CAT.
Further, as reported by HT, the IIM-L, which is conducting the test, will release the notification in newspapers across the country tomorrow, July 30.
CAT 2017 exam details:
- The duration of the CAT will be 180 minutes
- Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice type
- Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.
The test will have three sections namely:
Section I: Verbal ability and reading comprehension
Section II: Data interpretation and logical reasoning
Section III: Quantitative ability
“Also, we will allow use of basic onscreen calculator for computation. Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section,” Prof Neeraj Dwivedi, convener, CAT 2017 said to HT.
CAT 2017 will be held in around 140 test cities.
The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) followed by Personal Interviews (PI) roundAll the selected candidates will get admission in around 20 IIM institutes established in various parts of the nation
