Fiat Argo sedan version spied testing

Last month, Fiat launched the Argo for the Brazilian market. And now, a sedan version of the Argo hatchback was spotted testing in the southern region of Brazil. The Argo sedan will be based on the the Fiat Tipo sedan, which was recently spawned in the South African market.

The heavy camouflage does not reveal the cosmetics of the car, although the extended sedan-like body is evident. The shoulder lines are expected to be similar to the ones on the Argo hatchback. However, with the rear quarter body being different, this sedan version is expected to have a different cut to the door at the rear. The sharp day time running LED lights and 17-inch alloy wheels are likely to be carried over from the hatchback version.

The cabin is expected to have similar styling and design cues from the hatch back. The trim levels will stay the same and will carry all the pampering in-cabin features from the Argo.

The Argo sedan is expected to have both petrol and diesel mills similar to the one in Fiat Tipo sedan – 1.4-litre petrol, 1.3-litre diesel and a 1.6-litre petrol.

There is no word from the company about getting this new vehicle, but the recent launch of Argo and Tipo in Brazilian and South African market respectively hint to the manufacturer’s plans to revamp their portfolio here as well. That being said, the Punto and the Linea in the Indian market are due for an upgrade. If the new vehicle finds its way to the Indian shore, the car will play rival to the Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Volkswagen Vento, Skoda Rapid and the Honda City.
